Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition Teased Ahead Of July 7 Launch | V3Cars

Tata Motors has teased the Nexon EV Dark Edition ahead of its imminent launch. It will join the Nexon Dark Edition and the Altroz Dark Edition both of which will also go on sale on 7 July 2021.

Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition

As one would expect, the Nexon EV Dark Edition gets an all-black exterior including a black grille, black ORVMs, black alloys, Nexon badge finished in mat black on the tailgate and the ‘#Dark’ badge on the front fenders. However, it continues to get blue inserts on the air dam, fog lamp housing and rear reflectors.  Similarly, on the inside, it gets an all-black cabin with blue colour inserts around the AC vents, central floor console and on the instrument cluster.

The Nexon EV is powered by an electric motor that makes 129PS and 245Nm. It draws current from a 30.2  kWh lithium-ion battery pack that lends the SUV a claimed range of 312km. Tata claims that the Nexon EV can go from 0-100kmph in 9.9 seconds. As far as charging is concerned, it can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 60 mins using a DC fast charger. While charging from a 15A socket at home, it takes 8.5 hours to charge from 10-90 per cent.

The Nexon EV Dark Edition will also replicate the standard variants when it will come to features. The standard EV gets features like auto projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 16-inch alloys, an electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming IRVM, auto AC with rear AC vents, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harman sound system, semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch display, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, parking camera and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The standard Nexon EV is offered in three variants: XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux. So, expect the  Dark Edition to be offered only on the XZ+ and XZ+ Lux variants only. While we will have to wait for the launch to know the prices, the Nexon EV Dark Edition is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 20,000 over the corresponding variants. It is priced from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 16.56 lakh (ex-showroom excluding Government subsidies).
