Tata HBX Interior Spied Ahead Of Launch

Tata HBX Interior Spied Ahead Of Launch | V3Cars

Tata is said to be gearing up to launch the HBX SUV by the end of this year. While the launch is still a few months away, the SUV has been spied testing yet again revealing its interior. So, let’s take a look.

Tata HBX

At the first glimpse, the interior of the SUV looks largely similar to the near-production version showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It features a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch coloured screen and a steering wheel that looks similar to the unit seen on the Altroz. Like other modern Tata cars, it also gets a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system sitting at the top of central AC vents while the controls for the AC are housed in the lower half of the central console. The AC control unit is also borrowed from the Altroz

Other features that are visible in the spy shot include push-button start, auto AC, steering mounted controls, a 12V charging socket with a USB port and cruise control. Although the cabin of the SUV was heavily camouflaged, it is expected to get a dual-tone interior with a grey and light-grey finish as the Altroz. The Tata HBX is also expected to get features like auto headlamps, iRA connected car tech, multiple driving modes, ideal start-stop, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support for the infotainment system, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Under the hood, the HBX is likely to be offered with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine only. It is the same engine that does duty on the Tiago, Tigor and the Altroz. It makes 86PS and 113Nm. While the car spotted was equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, the HBX is expected to be offered with a 5-speed AMT as well. Tata might also introduce an all-electric version of the  HBX at a later stage.

Tata is expected to launch the HBX SUV by the end of this year. However, the launch might get delayed due to the worsening Covid 19 situation in the country. Prices are expected to range from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. It will take on likes of the Mahindra KUV100 and the Maruti Ignis.
