6 Missing Features In 2022 Hyundai Venue Facelift | V3Cars

Hyundai have launched the 2022 Venue facelift in India. It gets some styling updates along with a list of new features. However, compared to the competition, the 2022 Venue still misses out on a few features.

2022 Hyundai Venue

Here is a list of 6 missing features in the 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift:

1. Diesel – Auto

The first one in the list is not exactly a feature, but a powertrain option. The Venue gets 3 engine options – a 1.2L normal petrol engine, a 1.0L turbo petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engine. Out of these, only the 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine gets the option of an automatic transmission. While it makes sense to not offer an automatic transmission with the 1.2L low-power petrol engine to keep costs in check, Hyundai should have given the option of an automatic transmission with the diesel engine, like Kia does with the Sonet.

The Kia Sonet, which uses the same diesel engine as the Venue, gets the option of a 6-speed torque converter. Hyundai could have given the same transmission in the Venue as well, but decided not to. Our guess is they did this to keep the prices of top variants in check. Also, Hyundai revealed that the diesel engine is not as popular as petrol engines among customers.

2. Auto-dimming IRVM

The 2022 Venue misses out on an auto-dimming IRVM. While the IRVM houses buttons for connectivity features, it has no auto-dimming feature. Other cars in the segment, such as the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Kia Sonet, get an auto-dimming IRVM. We think Hyundai did this as a cost-cutting measure.

3. Ventilated Front Seats

India is a hot country. To deal with it, many manufacturers now offer ventilated seats in their cars. However, even with the facelift, Hyundai have not introduced ventilated front seats in the Venue. Other cars in the segment, such as Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet, offer ventilated front seats. Speaking on the matter, Hyundai said that most customers preferred electrically adjustable seat, which the Venue gets, over the seat ventilation system.

4. 360-degree Parking Camera

The Nissan Magnite is one of the most affordable offerings in the segment. Despite its lower sticker price, it amazed many with the features it has to offer. One of them was a segment first, a 360-degree parking camera setup. Meanwhile, Maruti are set to launch the 2022 Brezza, which will get a 360-degree parking camera. With the competition getting this feature, we would have liked to see a 360-degree parking camera setup in the Venue facelift as well.

5. Wireless Android Auto And Apple CarPlay

The lower variants of the Hyundai Venue get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. However, they do not get a wireless charger. On the other hand, the higher variants of the Venue get a wireless charger but no wireless phone connectivity. Either way, you will have to carry a cable with you. The absence of wireless connectivity in higher variants is due to the infotainment system, which itself does not support wireless integration. Cars like Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger get wireless smartphone pairing.

6. Fog Lamps

The pre-facelift Hyundai Venue got fog lamps on the lower part of the bumper. However, with the facelift, Hyundai have removed them from the Venue. We can think of a few reasons for the omission of fog lamps. Either the new bumper design had no provision for fog lamps or the new LED projector headlamp setup is bright enough to cover for the absence of fog lamps.
