DRVM Feature Removed From 2022 Venue Facelift | V3Cars
Hyundai recently launched the 2022 Venue facelift with a refreshed design and new features. However, they have removed one of the distinctive features of the Venue, the DRVM.
DRVM, or driver rear view monitor, is a feature commonly seen in Hyundai cars. It gives the driver the view from the rear parking camera even when the car is not moving or moving forward. Most other systems only offer a video feed from the rear parking camera while reversing the car. But Hyundai’s DRVM helped drivers see what’s behind the car without slotting the gear level into reverse.

The DRVM feature helped drivers see behind the car when in traffic to maintain a safe distance with the car behind. On asking why Hyundai omitted the DRVM from the Venue, Hyundai told V3Cars that the feature was not well received by customers and was unused most of the time. Hence, they decided to get rid of the feature to keep prices in check.

Other Hyundai cars, such as the Grand i10 Nios, Aura and i20, continue get the DRVM feature. Even the Kia Sonet and Seltos get this feature. We expect Hyundai and Kia to slowly remove the DRVM feature from these cars for the same reason.

- 4-way electrically adjustable driver seat
- 2-step reclining rear seats
- 60:40 split w/ adjustable headrest
- 8-inch touchscreen information system
- Alexa and Google voice assistants

- Inbuilt natural sounds
- Multi-drive modes
- Electric sunroof
