2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic Spied With New Alloys And Grille — Launch Soon | V3Cars

While Mahindra are gearing up to to launch the 2022 Scorpio N soon, they will also update the current Scorpio and give it a new name – Scorpio Classic. The Scorpio Classic will come with a few cosmetic changes along with a new badge. However, we do not expect Mahindra to bring any mechanical changes to the current Scorpio.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic — What’s Set To Change?

The Mahindra Scorpio Classic was recently spied with mild camouflage wrap, hiding the changes made to the SUV. We expect the Scorpio Classic to get a new grille, which could draw inspiration from the Scorpio N’s grille. It will also gain new alloy wheels and new LED tail lights. While the design of the new alloy wheels can be seen in the images, Mahindra hid the logo on the hubs. This hints that the Scorpio Classic will get Mahindra’s new twin peaks logo. Mahindra are set to replace their current logo with the new twin peaks logo on all their future SUVs.

On the inside, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic is likely to retain its upright dashboard layout with a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre. We can expect new badges on the dashboard and Scorpio Classic embossing on the seats too. Like the current Scorpio, the Scorpio Classic will retain its side-facing jump seats as it remains the preferred choice for politicos and their security.

Mahindra currently offer the Scorpio with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine in two states of tune — 120PS and 160PS. The former comes with a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the latter makes use of an updated 6-speed manual transmission. We expect Mahindra to offer the new Scorpio Classic with the 160PS turbo diesel engine option.
