What Are The Pros And Cons Of Renault Triber Petrol?
The pros or advantages of Renault Triber petrol are:
- Contemporary styling for an MPV even with a sub-4m length
- Surprisingly spacious for a sub-4m 3-row MPV; even the 3rd row is usable for shorter adults
- Removable 3rd row offers an immensely practical boot measuring 625 litres, which is even more than that of the Ertiga with the 3rd row folded
- Affordable pricing for a stylish, city-friendly 7-seater car
- Considering the size, price and body style, the Triber is in a class of its own
- Option of AMT automatic in the well-priced and VFM top 2 variants
- The respectable 182mm ground clearance is comparable with SUVs
The Renault Triber petrol has the following shortcomings or problems:
- The small 1.0L normal petrol engine doesn’t offer enough power and torque for frequent highway driving and comfortably overtaking on single-lane highways
- We wish the Triber also had a turbo petrol engine option for buyers who want to drive the car on the highways as well as get good drivability in the city without sacrificing fuel efficiency
- Missing features include cruise control, front and 2nd row armrests, option of captain seats
- The RXL variant offers poor value for money while the base model doesn’t get several must-have features we expect from an MPV
What Is The Price Of Renault Triber Petrol Variants?
The Renault Triber petrol is available with a 1.0L normal petrol engine. It gets a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. The petrol-manual range is available in all 4 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 5.92 lakh and going up to Rs. 7.79 lakh. The automatic transmission is available in the higher RXT and RXZ variants, which cost Rs. 7.71 lakh and Rs. 8.31 lakh, respectively. The price jump to the automatic transmission in the comparable variants is Rs. 52,000.

New Renault Triber RXE - Base Model Features & Review
The base RXE variant of the Renault Triber is only available with a 1.0L petrol engine and a manual transmission. It carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 5.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The notable standard features of the new Triber’s RXE base model are:
- Body-coloured bumpers
- Halogen projector headlamps
- Manual AC
- Front power windows
- 14-inch steel wheels
- Split-folding 2nd row seats with slide and recline
- Folding and removable 3rd row seats
- Wheel arch cladding
We wish the Triber’s base model also had features like:
- Day/night inside mirror
- Full wheel covers
- Music system
- Remote central locking
- Internally-adjustable outside mirrors
- Rear AC vents
Since this variant doesn’t get several must-have features, we won’t suggest this variant even to budget buyers. You should consider stretching your budget for a higher variant.

The RXL variant of the Triber gets the following additional notable features over the base RXE variant:
- Music system
- Bluetooth and USB connectivity
- Full wheel covers
- Rear power windows
- Tilt steering

While this variant covers some of the must-have features, it still misses out on many and it offers a poor value for money. So, even the RXL variant is not recommended.
Renault Triber Petrol RXL Vs RXT Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
Besides the manual transmission, the Triber’s RXT variant also gets the 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. With the manual transmission, it costs Rs. 7.19 lakh, which is Rs. 55,000 higher than the RXL variant. The RXT automatic costs Rs. 7.71 lakh, which is Rs. 52,000 higher than the manual transmission. The new Triber’s RXT variant gets the following notable additional features over the RXL trim:
- Touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple Carplay
- Power mirrors
- Steering-mounted controls
- Rear AC vents with fan controls
- Cooled storage
- Chrome grille
Even this variant doesn’t get features like:
- Rear washer wiper

- Height-adjustable driver seat

The RXT variant mostly justifies the incremental cost over the lower variants. It also offers most of the must-have features along with some good-to-have features. So, this is the minimum variant we will recommend to Triber buyers.

- 2x front side thorax airbags
- 15-inch steel wheels with stylish wheel covers and wider tyres
- Height-adjustable driver seat
- Cooled glovebox

The RXZ variant of the Triber completely justifies the incremental cost over the base variant. For Triber manual as well as automatic buyers, this is our top recommendation as it not only offers better value for money but also more features.

Which Variant Of The Renault Triber Petrol Should You Buy?
For the Triber manual buyers, the base and RXL variants are not worth buying. The base variant doesn’t get several must-have features while the RXL offers poor value for money. The RXT is the minimum variant you should consider but if you can buy the RXZ, then that’s even better. The top model of the Triber gets our top recommendation among all Triber variants.

For Triber automatic buyers, there are only 2 variants to choose from. Between these 2, the base is suitable for buyers who don’t want to stretch the budget. However, if you can afford the top RXZ variant, then it’ll give you more features along with a much better value for money.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Renault Triber Petrol?
The Renault Triber is in a class of its own as it’s the only B2-segment 7-seater MPV for mass market buyers. So there isn’t another car to compare it with. The 1.0L petrol engine in the Triber makes 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. The 100Nm/t torque-to-weight ratio is adequate to drive the car in the city even with 7 occupants. But this engine is not suitable for sustained highway usage, especially with a full load as it doesn’t have the power and torque to quickly accelerate and overtake on the highway. We wish Renault also offered the option of 1.0L turbo petrol engine with the Triber.

What Are The Dimensions Of The Renault Triber?
In terms of dimensions, the 625 litres of boot space in 2-row mode is the highlight as it’s more than that of the Ertiga. This is because of the removable 3rd row seats of the Triber. Another thing that stands out is its respectable SUV-like ground clearance measuring 182mm. Although, once you load the car up, it’ll sag but 182mm is a good starting point, especially for 4 occupants and it’ll rarely scrape on the usual tall speed breakers.
