The pros or advantages of MG Comet EV are:

• Tiny dimensions and a tight turning radius of just 4.2 metres make it very easy to drive in tight city traffic
• Surprisingly spacious even for 4 adults despite its deceivingly small dimensions
• Compact and quirky styling will stand out on the road
• EV-specific platform unlike other EVs, which use a modified petrol car platform

• 12-inch wheels on a fairly tall body look tiny
• No usable boot space with upright rear seat backs
• Quirky styling is not for every one and the more conventional Tiago EV only costs a little more

The higher Play variant of the Comet costs Rs. 9.29 lakh, which is Rs. 1.30 lakh more than the base trim.

The Plus top model of the MG Comet EV costs Rs. 9.98 lakh, which is Rs. 70,000 more than the Play variant.

The Comet EV’s Plush variant gets the following notable additional features over the Play trim:

• Tilt steering
• Rear parking sensors
• Bluetooth key with sharing function
• Approach and walk-away lock/unlock feature

Even in the top model of the Comet EV, you may miss features like an auto AC and a height-adjustable driver seat.

Top-spec Plush variant of the Comet EV only costs Rs. 70,000 more and adds a few more desirable features. However, it can’t cover up the gap in value created by the lower trim. Therefore, the Comet’s top model is also not recommended for offering a poor value for money.

Which Variant Of The MG Comet EV Should You Buy?

Among the 3 variants of the Comet EV, only the base variant is worth buying. This is because the higher 2 variants don’t even come close to justifying the incremental cost over the base trim with their additional features.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The MG Comet EV?

In terms of the specifications, the Comet offers a smaller battery than the Tiago EV but its official claimed range of 230km is only 20km less than that of the Tiago EV. Its power and torque output are also lower than that of the Tiago EV. But, its torque-to-weight ratio is better and the power-to-weight ratio is comparable with that of the Tiago EV. So, you should expect a similar driving experience — at least in the city.

What Are The Dimensions Of The MG Comet EV?

The Comet EV is a compact city car and it’s considerably shorter and narrower than the Tiago EV. However, it’s taller and has a similar ground clearance despite the tiny 12-inch wheels. Being a 2-door car with 2-rows of seating, it doesn’t have a usable boot space like the Tiago EV.
