- Rear disc brakes
- Halogen reflector headlamps
- LED tail lamps
- Flush door handles
- 8-inch touchscreen
- Wired Android Auto
- Steering-mounted controls
- 7-inch colour LCD instrument cluster
- All power windows
- 4x adjustable headrests
- Front armrest
- Tilt steering
- Rear AC vents
- Remote central locking
- Power mirrors
- Bottle holders in all doors
- USB ports in front and rear
- Height-adjustable driver seat
This variant doesn’t get a few important features like:
- Wheel covers
- Auto AC
- Rear centre armrest
- Rear camera
- Telescopic steering
- Apple Carplay
- Rear washer wiper
- Rear defogger
- LED DRLs
- LED or projector headlamps
The base MX variant has most of the must-have features for a budget-focused XUV700 buyer. Moreover, the higher AX3 variant is too expensive for the additional features it offers and has a poor value for money. You can add wheel covers, rear camera, LED fog lamps and aftermarket LED bulbs to improve the ownership experience with the MX variant.

Mahindra XUV700 5-Seat Petrol MX vs AX3 Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The XUV700 5-seat AX3 also gets the same 2.0L turbo petrol engine but with manual as well as 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. With the manual transmission, this variant costs Rs. 15.50 lakh and with the automatic, it costs Rs. 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The AX3 petrol-manual costs Rs. 2.05 lakh more than MX petrol-manual. The AX3 petrol-automatic costs Rs. 1.70 lakh more than AX3 petrol-manual.
The AX3 variant gets the following features over the base MX variant:
- Halogen fog lamps
- Larger touchscreen
- Larger instrument cluster display
- Split 2nd row seats
- Wireless Android Auto
- Wireless Apple Carplay
- Alexa voice commands
- Rear defogger, washer and wiper
- Wheel covers
- LED DRLs

Mahindra XUV700 AX3 variant doesn’t have some important features like:
- LED headlamps
- Rear camera
- Auto AC
- Keyless entry with push-button start
- Tyre pressure sensor
- Rear armrest
- Cruise control
While it does add some must-have features, it is also very overpriced for the additional features. The lower MX variant also has a decent number of features to suffice for most budget-conscious buyers. However, if you find the MX variant too basic for your preferences, then you should make the jump straight to the AX5 trim as it offers better value than the AX3.

Mahindra XUV700 5-Seat Petrol AX3 vs AX5 Variant - Price, Feature Comparison
The XUV700 5-seat petrol AX5 variant costs Rs. 16.79 lakh with the petrol-manual and Rs. 18.54 lakh with the petrol-automatic. The AX5 petrol-manual and petrol-automatic are Rs. 1.29 and Rs. 1.34 lakh more expensive than the comparable AX3 variants.
For this additional price, this variant adds the following notable features:
- LED reflector headlamps
- 2x curtain airbags
- Panoramic sunroof
- 17-inch machined alloy wheels

Even this variant doesn’t get features like:
- Auto AC
- Rear armrest
- Tyre pressure sensors
- Keyless entry with push-button start/stop
- Cruise control
While it doesn’t add too many must-have features, the AX5 variant adds some high-value features to better justify the value-for-money than the lower AX3 variant. So, if you want these features and don’t want to settle for the basic MX variant, then the AX5 is a better value-for-money option than the AX3. With the automatic also, we’ll recommend buying the AX5 instead of the AX3 for a better overall ownership experience and value for money.

Which Variant Of The 2022 Mahindra XUV700 5-Seat Petrol Should You Buy?
The base MX variant seems to offer the best value for money and has most of the must-have features. So, it’s a great choice for budget buyers. You only need to spend a little bit on adding some aftermarket accessories and it’ll serve you well. The AX3 petrol-manual is very expensive for what it offers although most of its additional features are must-have. So, we don’t recommend the AX3 variant. While the top AX5 variant of the 5-seat XUV700 petrol adds mostly good-to-have features, it better justifies the asking price and offers better value than the AX3. For this reason alone, we’ll suggest AX3 buyers to consider the AX5.

For 5-seat Mahindra XUV700 petrol-automatic buyers, the AX5 seems to offer a much better value than the AX3. With the automatic as well, we’ll suggest getting the AX5 instead of the AX3.
What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Mahindra XUV700 5-Seat Petrol?
MG Hector is the only other petrol-powered D-segment 5-seater SUV. Just like the Hector, the XUV700 also offers manual and automatic transmission options. The XUV700 5-seat petrol gets a very powerful 2.0L turbo petrol engine, which makes 200PS of power and a very diesel-like 380Nm of torque. These figures completely overshadow the MG Hector petrol’s performance figures.
