Volkswagen ID.4 GTX Electric Crossover Spotted | V3Cars

After showcasing the ID Crozz concept at the 2020 Auto Expo, Volkwagen have now begun testing the ID.4 GTX electric crossover in India. The VW ID.4 GTX was spotted testing recently and here’s everything we know about it so far.

VW ID.4 Battery Options

Volkswagen offer the ID.4 with a choice of 2 battery packs  – 52kWh and 77kWh – in international markets. The test car spied in India was the ID.4 GTX. The GTX is the top- variant of the ID.4. It gets the 77kWh battery pack along with 4-wheel-drive. Hence, we expect Volkswagen to launch the ID.4 GTX in the country with all the bells and whistles.

VW ID.4 GTX Powertrain

The ID.4 GTX comes with 2 electric motors, mounted at each axle. The combined power output stands 300PS. VW claim the the ID.4 GTX can do the 0-100kmph sprint in 6.3 seconds with a restricted top speed of 180kmph. We expect the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX to offer an ARAI-claimed range of around 400km.

In terms of features, the ID.4 GTX comes equipped with LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, LED tail lights, ambient lighting, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster and tyre pressure monitoring system.

VW ID.4 GTX Launch Details

Volkswagen are likely to launch the ID.4 GTX at the 2023 Auto Expo. The all-electric crossover from Volkswagen will go up against the likes of the Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge and the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5. It is worth noting that Vollkswagen’s Czech sibling, Skoda, are planning to launch the Enyaq electric crossover in India. The Enyaq has been spied testing multiple times on our roads.
