2022 Mahindra XUV300 Facelift Officially Teased With Impressive Acceleration | V3Cars
Mahindra have officially teased the XUV300 facelift on their social media handles. The XUV300 facelift doesn’t get any noticeable changes on the outside, save for the new twin peaks logo. The social media post hinted towards an impressive 0-60kmph acceleration time.
The performance improvements will most likely come from the engine upgrade as its 1.2L turbo petrol engine is likely to make more power and torque. It already has class-leading torque figures with the petrol and diesel engines. But it's torque to weight is not all that impressive because of its heavy kerb weight.
The spy pictures of the Mahindra XUV300 surfaced online yesterday and Mahindra have already teased their upcoming B2-segment SUV. The updated Mahindra XUV300 facelift gets the new twin peaks logo up front, with brushed finish for the lower bumper. Around the side, the new XUV300 facelift continues to get 16-inch dual tone alloy wheels, with the new Mahindra logo. XUV300 fans will recognize that the current model launched with 17-inch wheels, which were the largest in the segment. Mahindra later downsized the top model’s alloys and brought them on par with the rivals. Around the rear too, the XUV300 facelift is unlikely to offer any major changes, save for the new logo.

On the inside, we can expect the new XUV300 facelift’s dashboard to get a touchup. It could also offer a new touchscreen infotainment system with Mahindra’s AdrenoX connected-car tech. Mahindra could also offer new features like a digital instrument cluster and a wireless phone charger.

On the powertrain front, the XUV300 facelift will get the new 1.2L turbo petrol engine that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The new 1.2L turbo-petrol engine features direct fuel injection and cylinder heads with integrated exhaust manifolds. This new petrol engine could produce 130PS or power and 230Nm of torque, an increase of 20PS and 30Nm over the current turbo-petrol engine. Thanks to the additional power and torque, the new XUV300 facelift is likely to do 0-60kmph in 5.6 seconds.
The XUV300 facelift diesel variants will continue to be powered by the existing 1.5L turbo diesel engine. The turbo diesel engine produces 117PS of power and 300Nm of torque. Both engines will come with the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT automatic transmission.
We’re expecting the Mahindra XUV300 facelift to go on sale in the coming weeks. It will rival other B2-segment SUVs, such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
