Mahindra: 40% Of All Scorpio N Bookings For Automatic Variants | V3Cars

Mahindra revealed the Scorpio N on July 17 and launched the rugged SUV 10 days later. The homegrown carmaker received over 1 lakh orders within 30 minutes of opening the booking window for the Scorpio N. Now, the carmaker has revealed that 40% of all Scorpio bookings are for the automatic variant of the rugged SUV. This share consists of the petrol-automatic, diesel-automatic and diesel-automatic with 4-wheel-drive variants.

Due to the overwhelming demand for the Scorpio N, Mahindra have stated that they are working towards increasing the production capacity for the Scorpio N and other popular models, such as the Thar and XUV700. Mahindra aim to deliver 20,000 Scorpio N SUVs by the end of 2022.

Meanwhile, Mahindra have decided to keep the previous-gen Scorpio, now known as the Scorpio Classic, on sale alongside the new Scorpio N. While the Scorpio N is targetted towards urban buyers, the Scorpio Classic will continue to serve Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. Mahindra have further decided not to accept online bookings for the Scorpio Classic and retain it as a dealership offering only.
