Upcoming Cars In January 2024 - Sonet Facelift, Punch EV, And More | V3Cars

Here’s a list of all upcoming cars in January 2024. Our list includes the likes of the recently unveiled Kia Sonet facelift, the much-anticipated Tata Punch EV and the Mahindra XUV300 facelift, among others.

Upcoming Cars In January 2024

1. Kia Sonet Facelift

Sonet Facelift

Kia unveiled the Sonet facelift in India on December 14, 2023 and opened bookings for the B2-segment SUV on December 20, 2023. The launch of the Kia Sonet facelift is set to take place in January 2024 and we expect Kia to announce the full price list at the event. The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift offers several new features, including ADAS, and it also marks the comeback of the diesel-manual powertrain.

The 2024 Kia Sonet facelift is available with the same 5 powertrain options as before:

  • 1.2L normal petrol with 5-speed manual transmission
  • 1.0L turbo petrol with 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission
  • 1.0L turbo petrol with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
  • 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission
  • 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission

The new Sonet also gets a turbo diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission (in addition to the 6-speed ACMT). So, the diesel engine gets 3 transmission options:

  • 6-speed manual transmission
  • 6-speed auto-clutch manual
  • 6-speed torque converter automatic

Kia are offering the new Sonet facelift in 7 variants – HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX Plus and X-Line. Like before, the Kia Sonet is available with 3 interior trim lines, including Tech Line, GT Line and X-Line. Know more about the Sonet facelift by clicking the links below.

2. Tata Punch EV

Punch EV

Tata Motors are set to kickstart the new year with the Punch EV. A recent media report claimed the Punch.ev will debut in late January 2024. Various spy shots of the Punch EV from the past year suggest it could feature a thoroughly revised front end, similar to the Nexon facelift. The Punch EV is likely to offer similar power and torque figures as the Tigor EV. So expect it to put out 75PS of power and 170Nm of torque and offer a driving range of 300 - 310km per charge.

The Punch EV is expected to rival the Citroen eC3, which is currently priced from Rs. 11.61 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the Punch EV to get a higher starting price than the Citroen eC3. However, the electric Tata SUV should offer a lot more features than the Citroen in return. Check out our expected price for the Tata Punch EV below.

The Tata Punch facelift could debut alongside the Punch EV in late January 2024. It is expected to feature the same design revisions as its electric counterpart. While the Punch small SUV will retain its current petrol and CNG engines, it could gain new features like a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, illuminated steering wheel, touch-based climate control, and more. Tata could even offer the top variants of the Punch with ADAS for enhanced safety.

3. Hyundai Creta Facelift

2024 Hyundai Creta

The second-generation Hyundai Creta is set to get its first major refresh since its launch in 2020. Hyundai are set to unveil the mid-life update of the best-selling C-segment SUV on January 16, 2024 and the Creta facelift could go on sale soon after. The second-gen Creta hasn’t received any major update since its launch in 2020, while its Kia cousin, the Seltos, received a facelift in 2023. The Hyundai Creta facelift is expected to retain the same engine and transmission options as the current model but will receive a couple of new features, including ADAS. When launched, it will continue to compete with C-segment SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the MG Astor. It will also have to contend with the ICE versions of the upcoming Tata Curvv coupe-SUV.

4. Mahindra XUV400 Facelift

XUV400

The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is currently undergoing testing and various media reports suggest it could go on sale in January 2024. Spy shots of the XUV400 facelift suggest it could receive a revised front end inspired by Mahindra’s upcoming range of BE electric SUVs. We expect the Mahindra XUV400 facelift to feature the same electric powertrain as the current model that offers a range of 375km - 456km, depending on the variant. Prices for the current model start at Rs. 16.0 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the updated XUV400 to get a nominal price hike due to feature additions and rising input costs. When launched, the XUV400 facelift will continue to rival the Tata Nexon EV, prices for which start at R. 14.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
