Tata Nexon EV Max Launching Tomorrow – What To Expect | V3Cars

Tata Motors are all set to launch the Nexon EV Max on May 11. The new Nexon EV Max is said to offer a real-world range of over 350km on a single charge. We expect the Nexon EV to offer a claimed range of over 450km along with new features.

On the styling front, the Nexon EV Max is likely to gain a few cosmetic touches and new badges to set it apart from the standard Nexon EV. Other than that, we do not expect the Nexon EV Max to have any major cosmetic changes. It will continue to offer projector headlamps, an enclosed grille, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and LED tail lights.

In terms of features, the Nexon EV Max will gain new features from the recently-updated Nexon range and some new EV-specific features. The new features could include an electric parking brake with auto hold, wireless charging, an air purifier, ventilated front seats, variable regenerative braking, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM and an illuminated gear selector.

On the powertrain front, the Nexon EV Max is likely to get a more powerful 136PS electric motor and a bigger 40kWh battery pack. The extra cells could mean more ARAI-certified range, which is likely to help it cross the 400km mark. The standard Nexon EV comes with a 129PS electric motor and a 30.2kWh battery pack.

Rumours also suggest that the Nexon EV Max will likely feature a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger as opposed to the 3.3kW AC charger in the standard Nexon EV. If the rumours are true, it should help speed up the charging process of the Nexon EV Max.

Thanks to the added features and extended range, we expect Tata Motors to charge a considerable premium over the Nexon EV. However, we expect it to cost less than the bigger MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. Tata Motors will keep the current Nexon EV on sale alongside the new Nexon EV Max.
