Tata Motors’ Pune Plant Completes 50,000 Unit EV Production Milestone | V3Cars

Tata Motors have rolled out the 50,000th EV unit from their manufacturing plant in Pune. Tata Motors achieved the feat faster than anticipated, which they say is a reflection of the fast EV adoption rate in the country.

To celebrate the occasion, Tata Motors conducted one of the largest customer drives across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore recently. Additionally, Tata Motors also undertook a tree plantation drive wherein the brand planted trees on behalf of its customers.

Tata Motors’ EVs currently include the Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max. The newest of the bunch, the Tiago EV, comes with 2 battery pack options — 19.2kWh and 24kWh. Tata Motors will begin deliveries of the Tiago EV in January 2023.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Electric Mobility Ltd, said, “As the pioneers of EVs in the country, the onus of ensuring successful adoption was on us. With a well calibrated product mix, strong consumer facing initiatives, we have been able to address barriers to EV adoption. We created an entire EV ecosystem with Tata Group companies to provide simple, cost effective solutions for our customers.”

Currently, all electric vehicles from Tata Motors offer multi drive and regeneration modes. Additionally, Tata Motors also rolled out software updates to offer features like cruise control and multi-regen modes to existing Nexon EV owners as well. It is worth mentioning that Tata Motors have expanded the reach of their electric portfolio to more than 165 cities.
