Skoda Kodiaq Facelift Unveiled; Looks Meaner Than Before! | V3Cars
Skoda has taken wraps off the Kodiaq facelift. It not only gets a new design but also gets additional features and new engines.
In terms of design, the facelifted Kodiaq looks meaner than before. Upfront, it gets a high set bonnet with new slimmer LED headlamps flanking the wider front grille with a thick chrome surround. The front bumper is also redesigned as it gets a wider crystalline-mesh air intake running across the width with L-shaped elements on either side.
The side and rear profile remain largely unchanged save for a new set of alloy wheels, slimmer and sharper LED tail lamps and a redesigned rear bumper that incorporates a faux skid plate like the front bumper. Similar to other modern Skoda cars, the updated Kodiaq also gets Skoda lettering in the centre of the tailgate replacing the Skoda logo found on the pre-facelift model.
On the inside, while the cabin layout remains unchanged, it gets new trim elements on the dashboard and doors. Other changes include a new bi-spoke steering wheel similar to the unit seen on the Kushaq and the new Octavia and a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features on offer include remain similar to the pre-facelift model. It gets new Matrix LED headlamps, 3-zone AC, 12-way adjustable driver’s seat, a digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags and a Canton sound system.
Under the hood, the India-spec Kodiaq facelift will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine. It is the same engine that does duty on the Superb facelift and the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace. It makes 190PS and 320Nm paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Like the Tiguan Allspace, the Kodaiq facelift will also be offered with a 4WD system.
Skoda has already confirmed that the Kodiaq facelift will go on sale in India in Q3 2021 (July to September). Prices are expected to start around Rs 35 lakh. It will take on its sibling the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace. Pricewise, it will also compete with likes of the Mahindra Alturas G4, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and the Ford Endeavour.
