Next-Gen Mahindra Scorpio Interior Spied

Next-Gen Mahindra Scorpio Interior Spied | V3Cars

Mahindra has been working on the new Scorpio for a long time as the SUV has been spotted testing on multiple occasions. While the earlier spy shots gave us a glimpse of the SUV’s new design, the latest set of images reveals the new Scorpio’s interior.

Next-Gen Mahindra Scorpio

The new Scorpio gets a completely redesigned cabin. The layout is new with a large touchscreen infotainment system sitting at the top of the central console flanked by central AC vents. It gets a new analogue instrument cluster sitting in the background of a new flat-bottom steering wheel which looks similar to the unit seen on the XUV700 test mules. The control switches on the central console and the steering wheel seem borrowed from other new Mahindra cars like the Thar and Marazzo.

The test mule spied recently was also equipped with an electric sunroof suggesting it could a top-spec variant of the upcoming SUV. Other features that are expected to be offered on the new Scorpio include auto AC, auto LED headlamps, connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, rain-sensing wipers, parking camera, cruise control, upto 6 airbags, electronic stability control and hill launch assist.

Scorpio Ineterior

As far as exterior styling is concerned, the new Scorpio will carry forward the boxy silhouette with a high set bonnet and an upright rear end.

Under the hood, the new Scorpio is likely to borrow Thar’s 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and 2.2-litre diesel engine but in a higher state of tune. In the Thar, while the petrol engine makes 150PS and 320Nm, the diesel engine produces 130PS and 300Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed MT as well as a 6-speed torque converter automatic (visible in spy shot). Like the current model, the new Scorpio is also expected to be offered with an optional 4WD system.

Codenamed the Z101, the new Scorpio is expected to go on sale by the end of 2021 or early 2022. It will take on likes of the Renault Duster, Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta.
