MG Hector Facelift Spotted At A Dealership | V3Cars
MG Hector facelift is spotted at a dealership ahead of its launch in January 2021. The Hector facelift gets an updated front end with a new chrome studded grille, inspired by the ZS EV.
The side profile remains unchanged, save for a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels instead of the 17-inch units seen on the current model. At the back, the only visible change is in the form of the red tail lamp connector being replaced by a black one.
Inside the cabin, while the layout remains unchanged, it now gets a dual-tone black beige treatment instead of the all-black cabin seen on the current model. The Hector Plus also gets a dual-tone cabin, but it gets the black-brown combination. The facelift Hector will also get some additional features in the form of wireless mobile charging, ventilated front seats, an extra USB port on the passenger’s side and auto-dimming IRVM.
Other features that are likely to be carried forward are LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera, up to 6 airbags, hill launch assist, electronic stability control, traction control, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and connected-car tech.
Under the hood, things are likely to remain unchanged. It will continue to come with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with the option of 48V hybrid system and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The 1.5-litre engine makes 143PS and 250Nm mated to a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre turbo hybrid version is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission only. The diesel engine, on the other hand, makes 170PS and 350Nm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
Prices of the Hector facelift are expected to start at a small premium over the current version, which is priced from Rs 12.83 lakh to Rs 18.08 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the likes of the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and some variants of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
