Mahindra XUV700 Gets New E Variants With Improved Safety Features | V3Cars
Mahindra have added new E variants in the XUV700 range that offer improved safety features over the corresponding versions of the regular variants. The new optional pack, named E, is available with MX, AX3 manual and AX5 petrol manual variants of the XUV700.
Mahindra XUV700 Gets E Optional Pack
The new E optional pack adds electronic stability program, or ESP, to the base and mid variants of the XUV700. The new optional pack should allow the Mahindra XUV700 to secure a 5-star crash test rating under Global NCAP’s updated testing protocols. As per the new crash test protocol, all the cars need to have ESC as standard fitment to secure a 5-star Global NCAP rating.

Mahindra are charging a premium of Rs. 50,000 for the inclusion of electronic stability control, or ESC. We expect Mahindra to discontinue the regular variants of the XUV700 soon, with the E variants eventually replacing them.

The XUV700 scored 16.03 points out of 17 points for adult safety and 41.66 out of 49 points for child occupants safety. The adult safety score of the XUV700 lags behind that of the Tata Punch, Altroz, Nexon and Mahindra XUV300. However, the XUV700’s child safety score is the best ever for any made-in-India car. The Thar and Punch are the only other cars with a child safety score of more than 40 out of 49.
