Hyundai have joined hands with Tata Power to offer electric vehicle charging solutions across the country. Under this partnership, Hyundai India plans to set up 60kW DC fast chargers across 34 dealerships in 29 cities. These chargers will be capable of faster charging times compared to the already available 7.2kW AC chargers at the aforementioned dealerships. The DC fast chargers will be available to all-electric vehicle owners and users of Tata Power EZ Charge mobile app. Customers will be able to pre-book a slot and also access the live status of the chargers.

Hyundai are gearing up to launch two new electric vehicles this year. We expect the company to launch the Ioniq 5 electric crossover ahead of the Kona Electric facelift. While the Ioniq 5 will be sold via the CBU route, the Kona Electric will enjoy a high degree of localisation. The Ioniq 5 will cater to premium buyers in the EV segment whereas the Kona Electric facelift will target the mass-segment buyers.
