Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Diesel Removed From Website — Discontinued? | V3Cars
Hyundai have removed the diesel variants of the Grand i10 Nios from their India website. The hatchback is now only available in normal petrol, petrol-CNG and turbo petrol engine options. We do not expect Hyundai to relaunch the Nios diesel as the emission norms for cars are set to get stricter.
Hyundai Grand-i10 Nios Diesel Discontinued?
Hyundai have officially pulled the plug on the 1.2L turbo diesel engine of the Nios. The B1 hatchback segment offered a slew of diesel options a couple of years ago but ever since the BS6 emission norms came in, the Grand i10 Nios became the only B1 hatchback with a diesel engine. As Hyundai have discontinued the Grand i10 Nios diesel, there are no diesel hatchbacks available in the B1 hatchback segment.

Bigger Push On CNG Fuel
While the Grand i10 Nios diesel is now discontinued, Hyundai are betting big on CNG-powered vehicles. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is already available with a petrol-CNG option and Hyundai recently also added the top-spec Asta variant to the CNG range. With the upcoming facelift, we expect Hyundai to continue offering the CNG option in Magna, Sportz and Asta trims.
What To Expect From Grand-i10 Nios Facelift
The Grand i10 Nios was spotted multiple times on our roads wearing camouflage. Up front, the Grand i10 Nios facelift is likely to receive a new grille with a new mesh pattern. The LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), which were earlier positioned on the edges of the grille, seem to have moved to the lower bumper. Meanwhile, Hyundai have retained the halogen projector headlamps. While the side profile does not show any massive changes, we expect Hyundai to offer the Grand i10 Nios facelift with new 15-inch machined alloy wheels and updated tail lights.
