Hyundai Creta To Get A Mild Feature Update Soon

Hyundai Creta To Get A Mild Feature Update Soon | V3Cars

Hyundai is planning to introduce a mild update on the Creta SUV. Like its sibling, the Kia Seltos which was updated recently, the Creta will get additional features while some features will be omitted from the lineup.

Hyundai Creta

As per the leaked document, the E and S variant will now get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Support for the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system while the 10.25-inch unit offered on the SX and SX(O) variants will continue to come with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Currently, both 8-inch and 10.25-inch touchscreen units are offered with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Currently, the remote engine start is limited to the SX(O) MT variant only which is available with a diesel engine only. With the update, the remote engine start will be introduced on the SX variant as well and will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. The updated Creta will also get new voice commands, welcome greetings feature and Over Air Updates (OTA) for the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is limited to the SX and SX(O) variants only. The SX and SX(O) variants will also get a soft paint finish on the dashboard that will lend the cabin a more premium feel.

While other variants will receive new features, the base-spec E variant will lose features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, turn indicators on ORVMs, luggage lamp and passenger side seat pocket.

Other features on the Creta will continue to remain as such. It will continue to get features like LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, digital instrument cluster, push-button start, auto AC with rear AC vents, Bose sound system, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, parking camera, air purifier, upto 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill launch assist and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Under the hood, things will remain unchanged. It will continue to get three engine options: 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115PS/144Nm), 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine (140PS/242Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm). The 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard with an option of CVT and 6-speed automatic with petrol and diesel engines, respectively. The 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission only. While Kia recently introduced an IMT transmission option on the 1.5-litre Seltos petrol, Hyundai is not planning to introduce an iMT transmission on the Creta.

Hyundai is expected to launch the updated Creta in the coming few weeks. Prices are expected to remain largely unchanged due to the feature update but Hyundai might introduce a minor price hike due to the increased cost of raw materials. It is currently priced from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will continue to take on the likes of the Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster and upcoming SUVs like the Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun.
