2021 Isuzu Hi-Lander & D-Max V-Cross Launch On May 10 | V3Cars

Isuzu has confirmed that the Hi-Lander and D-Max V-Cross will go on sale in India on 10 May 2021. The Hi-Lander is the more affordable of the two models and is targeted towards a semi-commercial segment while the V-Cross is the more premium and targeted towards an urban audience.

While Isuzu has not revealed anything about the upcoming trucks, the Hi-Lander and the D-Max V-Cross have already started reaching dealerships revealing how the updated models will look and what features will they pack.

In terms of design, the Hi-Lander looks quite basic and similar to the D-Max currently on sale. It gets halogen headlamps flanking the black plastic grille, black ORVMs, body-coloured door handles and steel wheels with wheel covers. The V-Cross, on the other hand, gets projector LED headlamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, fog lamps, chrome front grille, sidestep, roof rails and chrome door handles while the basic design remains similar to the Hi-Lander version.

Similarly, on the inside, the cabin layout remains unchanged. The Hi-Lander gets basic features like manual AC and rear parking sensors. It misses out on features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, push-button start, auto AC, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 6 airbags, parking camera, electronic stability program, hill launch assist, hill descent control, compared to the V-Cross variants.

Under the hood, both Hi-Lander and V-Cross will be powered by the same 1.9-litre diesel engine. It makes 163PS and 360Nm, 13PS and 10Nm more than the BS4 model. While earlier this engine was offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission only, the spy shots have confirmed it will be paired to a manual transmission on the Hi-Lander variants. The V-Cross continues forward with the sole 6-speed automatic transmission. That said, the Hi-Lander will be offered in the 2WD configuration only, unlike the D-Max V-Cross, which will get 4WD in the top-spec variant.

Prices of the Hi-Lander are expected to start around Rs 10 lakh while V-Cross is likely to be priced from Rs 17 lakh. The Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander and V-Cross have no direct rivals in the Indian market.
