Hyundai Alcazar To Launch On 18 June | V3Cars

Hyundai has confirmed that the prices of the Alcazar SUV will be announced on 18 June 2021. Pre-launch bookings for the SUV are already underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Hyundai Alcazar

The Alcazar is essentially a 7-seater version of the Creta with a longer wheelbase, redesigned exterior and added features. It will be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine (159PS/191Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm). Both the engines will be paired to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed automatic transmission. While Hyundai has not revealed the fuel economy figures of the engines, it claims that the Alcazar will have the best in class fuel economy. The carmaker also claims that the petrol Alcazar will have a 0-100kmph time of 9.5 seconds.

Hyundai has not revealed the dimensions of the Alcazar but has confirmed it will have a wheelbase of 2760mm, 150mm longer than the Creta. The Alcazar will be longer than the Creta while its width and height are expected to remain similar to the Creta. For reference, the Creta is 4300mm long, 1790mm wide and 1635mm wide. It has a wheelbase of 2610mm.

In terms of design, the Alcazar looks largely similar to the Creta but with slight modifications. Upfront, it gets a slightly redesigned front grille and a reworked front bumper. The side profile looks identical to the Creta save for a redesigned rear end to order to incorporate the extra length. It gets a larger rear quarter glass and a flatter roofline. It also gets bigger 18-inch alloy wheels.

The rear is where the Alcazar looks completely different from the Creta. It gets wider and chunkier tail lamps and a redesigned rear bumper.

Similarly, on the inside, while the layout will remain identical to the Creta, it will get new colours. Hyundai will offer the Alcazar in both 6-and 7-seater variants. Feature on offer will include up to 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, parking camera, electronic parking brake, hill launch assist, electronic stability control, panoramic sunroof, auto AC, digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, Bose sound system, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, cruise control and air purifier.

Some additional features on offer will include 64-colour ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless mobile charging for the second row and a side footstep.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the Alcazar will be offered in six variants: Prestige, Prestige(O), Platinum, Platinum(O), Signature and Signature(O). There will be six monotone colours on offer along with two dual-tone colour options which will be limited to the Signature and Signature(O) variants only.

Prices of the Alcazar are expected to range from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. It will take on the likes of the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
