Hyundai Alcazar Officially Teased Ahead Of Global Debut | V3Cars

Hyundai is all set to unveil the Alcazar SUV on 6 April 2021. And just a day ahead of its global debut, the carmaker has teased the 7-seater SUV. In the teaser video released, the SUV wears a light camouflage giving us a fair idea of its exterior design features.

Hyundai Alcazar

As expected the Alcazar looks a lot similar to the Creta. It gets a similar front end with a mildly updated bumper, headlamps and a new chrome studded front grille. The side profile looks identical to that of the Creta at least till the C-pillar, post that,  it features a flatter roofline, longer rear overhang, bigger rear quarter glass and a more upright rear end. It also gets a new set of alloy wheels which look a lot similar to the units seen on the Creta. Coming to the back, the Alcazar looks entirely different from the Creta. It gets wider wrap-around tail lamps connected by a chrome element along with a slightly updated rear bumper with dual exhaust tips.

Things on the inside are also expected to be largely similar to the Creta. While the layout will remain unchanged, it will get an extra row of seats. Hyundai will offer the Alcazar with both 6-and 7-seater options. While the 7-seater will come with a bench-type seat in the second row, like the Creta, the 6-seater Alcazar will be equipped with a set of captain seats. The 6-seater Creta will also come with some unique elements like a floor-mounted centre armrest with cup holders and a wireless charging pad for rear occupants.

The Alcazar will as loaded as the Creta on the features front. It will get features like a panoramic sunroof, auto AC with rear AC vents LED headlamps, ambient lighting, air purifier, connected car tech, a digital instrument cluster, a 10,25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bose sound system, upto 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, hill launch assist and electronic parking brake.

Under the hood, the Alcazar is expected to get Creta’s 1.4-litre turbo petrol (240PS and 242Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (115PS/250Nm) engines. Some reports also suggest that Hyundai might offer a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine on the Alcazar. It is the same engine that is found on Elantra and Tucson. It makes 152PS and 192Nm mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Prices of the Alcazar are expected to start at a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the Creta which retails from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will take on likes of the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the outgoing Mahindra XUV500.
