Hyundai Alcazar Bookings Open | V3Cars
Hyundai has started accepting pre-launch bookings for the upcoming Alcazar SUV for a token amount of Rs 25,000. While Hyundai has not announced a launch date for the 7-seater SUV, the Alcazar is expected to go on sale on 17 June 2021. Some units of the Alcazar have already started reaching Hyundai dealerships as the carmaker dispatched 1360 units of the Alcazar in May 2021.
For the uninitiated, the Alcazar is essentially a 7-seater version of the Hyundai Creta. It looks largely similar to the 5-seater SUV but gets some cosmetic updates at the front in the form of a new chrome studded front grille and redesigned front bumper. The side profile also looks similar to the Creta but only till the C-pillar. Post that, it gets a redesigned rear end with a larger quarter glass and a flatter roof to incorporate the extra length and a longer wheelbase. It also gets new 18-inch alloy wheels replacing the 17-inch units offered on the Creta. At the back, the Alcazar gets a bigger windshield with wider tail lamps and redesigned rear bumper.
The Alcazar has a wheelbase of 2760mm which is 150mm longer than the Creta. Hyundai has not yet revealed other dimensions of the Alcazar but it will be longer than the Creta while its width and height are likely to remain unchanged.
Under the hood, the Alcazar be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine (159PS/191Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm). Both the engines will be paired to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed automatic transmission. While Hyundai has not revealed the fuel economy figures of the engines, it claims that the Alcazar will have the best in class fuel economy. The carmaker also claims that the petrol Alcazar manual has a 0-100kmph time of 9.5 seconds.
On the inside, while the cabin layout of the Alcazar looks identical to the Creta, it gets a brown-black finish instead of the beige-black finish on the Creta. Hyundai will offer the Alcazar with both 6-and 7-seater options. While the 7-seater will get a Creta-like bench-type seat in the second row with an additional row of seats, the 6-seater version will be equipped with a pair of captain seats in the second row. The 6-seater variant will get some exclusive features like a floor-mounted central armrest with cupholders and wireless mobile charging.
Other features on the Alcazar look similar to the Creta. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, connected car tech, air purifier, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, auto LED headlamps, Bose sound system, auto AC, auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, electronic parking brake, multiple driving modes, multiple traction control modes, up to 6 airbags, hill launch assist, hill hold control and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Alcazar also gets some additional features over the Creta in the form of 64-colour ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a side footstep.
Although Hyundai has not yet revealed the variant details of the Alcazar, a leak has confirmed that the 7-seater SUV will be offered in six variants. Prices are expected to range from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. It will take on the likes of the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
