BMW M4 Competition was launched in the global markets in September 2021. At the front, it gets the controversial kidney grille which extends its jaw to the lower part of the bumper. Flanking the grille are LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs. The M4 Competition sports a coupe stance from the side, with two doors, while offering seating for 4 adults inside.

In terms of performance, the M4 Competition is offered with a 3.0L inline-6 twin-turbo petrol engine under its bonnet. It produces 510PS of power and 650Nm of torque from 2750rpm - 5500rpm. The engine is coupled to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission which channels power to all four wheels. Thanks to all-wheel-drive, the M4 Competition completes the sprint from 0-100kmph in a claimed 3.5 seconds.

As far as the equipment list is concerned, the M4 Competition offers adaptive LED headlights, M Sport seats, carbon-fiber roof, adaptive suspension, optional 20-inch M alloy wheels, Harman Kardon sound system, digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with a digital assistant.

The BMW M4 Competition takes on the likes of the  Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, which was launched in 2020 at Rs 1.33 crore ex-showroom. However, Mercedes-Benz India have discontinued the C63 Coupe and there is no word about its reintroduction in the near future. The sensible rival to the M4 Competition currently is the Audi RS5 which is a performance sedan with four doors.
