In this August 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B1-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. B1-Segment Hatchback August 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

The Maruti Ignis was the top YoY gainer in August 2022, with a 180% growth
Maruti Swift was the only loser, with over 9% decline in sales, in August 2022 YoY comparison
Most B1-segment hatchbacks saw their YoY sales rise in August 2022
Mahindra KUV100 and Datsun Go have been discontinued over the past year since August of 2021

B1-Segment Hatchback August 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

Most hatchbacks in the B1-segment saw a decline in dispatches over the last month
Only the Tata Tiago saw some gains in dispatches, 17% to be precise
The Maruti Swift was the biggest loser, with a 35.71% decline in sales in August MoM
The WagonR and Grand i10 followed in second and third place, with a loss of 18.6% and 7.26%, respectively
