Next-Gen Hyundai Verna Spotted On Test Again | V3Cars
Based on the latest spy shots of the all-new Verna, we can confirm that Hyundai have begun testing the new-generation of its C-segment sedan in India. Set to go on sale in 2023, the next-gen Verna will rival the likes of the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. We expect Hyundai India to reveal the all-new Verna at the Auto Expo 2023. But before its official reveal, here’s what we uncovered from the spy shots.
New Hyundai Verna Design
While the test car was disguised with camouflage, it does give us a fair idea about the design of the next-gen Verna. For starters, the 2023 Verna is likely to boast a split headlight design along with a bigger interpretation of Hyundai’s cascading grille. We expect the side profile to feature a prominent shoulder line and sharp creases on the doors. It also gets chrome trim under the windows, similar to the ones seen on the Hyundai i20 hatchback. In addition to that, the chrome knurled finish on the C- & D-pillar is inspired by the new 2022 Tucson.

2023 Hyundai Verna Features
In terms of features, the 2023 Hyundai Verna is likely to offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, power-adjustable driver seat and cruise control.
We are yet to receive any details about the 2023 Hyundai Verna’s powertrain options. However, we expect the new Verna to continue offering both petrol and diesel engine options as well as a new mild hybrid system. A few reports suggest that the new Verna will come with a 1.5L petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines along with a mild-hybrid system and brake energy regeneration. This step could be an attempt to comply with upcoming CAFE-II emission norms in the country. Needless to say, the addition of mild-hybrid technology will boost the fuel efficiency of both engine options. It is worth noting that the diesel-powered Verna is currently the most fuel-efficient sedan in its class.
