2021 MG ZS EV Launched At Rs 20.99 lakh | V3Cars

MG has updated its electric SUV, the ZS EV, in January 2020. Now, the carmaker has updated the electric SUV for the year 2021. It gets added range, new tyres, more ground clearance and a price hike. The 2021 ZS EV is priced from Rs 20.99 lakh to Rs 23.58 lakh.

Powering the 2021 ZS EV is the same electric motor that makes 143PS and 350Nm. However, it now gets a bigger 44.5kWh battery pack that lends the electric SUV a claimed range of 419km, 79km more than the 2020 model. With this update, MG has also introduced new tyres in the ZS EV. It now rides on 215/55 R17 tyres instead of the 215/50 R17 units. Courtesy of this, the ZS EV now has a ground clearance of 177mm while the battery pack is placed at 205mm above the ground. 

As far as charging is concerned, the 2021 ZS EV can be charged up to 80 per cent in 50 minutes via a DC faster charger. The AC charger, on the other hand, takes up to 8 hours to charge the battery to 100 per cent. You can also charge the battery using a 15A 3-pin plug but it will take up to 19 hours to fully charge the battery. 

Feature list the 2021 MG ZS EV remain similar to the 2020 model. It continues to get a panoramic sunroof, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with connected car tech, manual AC, rain-sensing wipers, powered driver’s seat, auto projector headlmaps, alloy wheels, cruise control and push-button start. 

Safety features on offer include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill launch assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake, heated ORVMs, parking camera, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchors. 

MG currently offers the ZS EV in 31 cities. It rivals the Hyundai Kona Electric, which retails from Rs 23.75 lakh to Rs 23.94 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
