Well-Loaded Base Variant
The base variant of the Alcazar SUV comes loaded with a slew of features that are not seen in the base variants of its rivals. These features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, all 4 disc brakes, LED headlights, LED tail lights, machined alloy wheels, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, panoramic sunroof and wireless phone charger.
Better Driveability With The New Turbo Petrol Engine
The updated Alcazar now comes with a 1.5L turbo petrol engine that replaces the older 2.0L normal petrol engine. The new turbo petrol engine produces 160PS of power at 5500rpm and 253Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 3500rpm. It offers a better torque to weight ratio of 190Nm/t compared to the now-discontinued normal petrol engine.
Turbo Petrol Engine With SUV Styling And Captain Seats
The Alcazar is one of only a handful of SUVs at this side of Rs. 20 lakh which offers the SUV styling along with the premium experience of captain seats in the 2nd row. Furthermore, it also offers a turbo petrol engine with both 6- and 7-seater options, which is a rare sight in this segment.

3rd-Row Not As Spacious As Carens
While the Alcazar offers 3-row seating, its 3rd-row space is considerably lesser than its cousin — the Carens. However, it is worth noting that the Carens boasts an MPV bodystyle whereas the Alcazar offers SUV styling and proportions.
Auto Not Available With Lower Variants, Manual Not Available With Top Variants
The petrol and diesel automatic transmission options of the Alcazar are not available with its lower variants. Similarly, the manual transmission is not available with the higher variants. This restricts buyers from choosing between a premium auto shift experience and the joy of a manual transmission.
Long-Term Reliability Of DCT Is Questionable
The long term reliability of the dual-clutch transmission is questionable since the DCT transmissions, disregarding the brand, have not been able to offer a hassle-free experience to Indian customers.
