The Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets a 1.2L normal petrol engine with a manual as well as an AMT automatic transmission. It makes 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. The Exter will also get a 1.2L normal petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. It’s likely to make 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque.

In this case, the Fronx may have a power advantage but the Exter is likely to have a slightly better torque output at lower RPMs. in terms of fuel efficiency, the Fronx is likely to maintain an upper hand but the Exter may also touch the 20kmpl mark.

Hyundai Exter Vs Maruti Suzuki Fronx - CNG Bi-Fuel Engine Spec Comparison (Expected)

Besides the normal petrol-manual and automatic powertrains, Hyundai also confirmed that the Exter will get the CNG bi-fuel option with a manual transmission. While the specs aren’t out yet, we expect its performance figures to align with those of the Nios CNG. So, it could make 69PS of power and 95Nm of torque while claiming to deliver mileage of around 26kmpkg when running on CNG. Meanwhile, the Fronx doesn’t have a CNG fuel option at the time of publishing this article.
