Check out pros and cons about the Tata Nexon that are worth highlighting for a potential buyer. Here are some of the highlights of the benefits of buying the Tata Nexon. We'll also list out the Nexon drawbacks to help you make an informed buying decision.

Nexon Advantanges
  • Improved Road Presence And Best-In-Class Ground Clearance

While the Nexon always offered impressive road presence with its SUV styling, the refreshed design enhances it even further. Even though the dimensions of the new Nexon remain the same as before, the inclusion of connected LED tail lights and split LED headlights help improve its overall presence. Furthermore, the Nexon continues to offer a class-leading ground clearance of 208mm.

  • More Safety Features Now Offered As Standard

The new Nexon offers more features as standard than its predecessor. It now gets electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist (HSA), traction control (TC), and LED headlights as standard. Additionally, the new Nexon also offers 6 airbags across variants while its predecessor only offered dual airbags.

  • Base Model Doesn’t Skimp On Features

Like before, the base variant of the Nexon doesn’t skimp on too many features. For instance, even the base variant of the Nexon offers split LED headlights with LED DRLs and connected tail lights. On the inside, Tata offer the 2-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo right from the base variant.

  • Wide Range Of Powertrain Options

The new Nexon offers even more transmission options than before. In addition to the 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options that Tata have carried over from the previous version, the new Nexon also offers the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It is also worth mentioning that the new Nexon offers a 5-speed manual transmission with the base petrol variant, which is not available in any of the higher variants.

  • Good Set Of Features In Top Variants

With the new update, Tata Motors have further improved the Nexon’s appeal by introducing new features, some of which are also best-in-class. These features include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a full-colour LCD instrument cluster, height-adjustable co-driver seat, JBL sound with subwoofer, front ventilated seats, 360-degree parking camera, and a voice-operated sunroof.

Nexon Disadvantanges
  • Low And Mid Variants Lack A Few Must-Have Features

The lower and mid variants of the Nexon lack a few must-have features. For instance, front and rear armrests are only available in the top-spec Fearless variant and its derivatives. Additionally, features like height-adjustable driver’s seat and body-coloured door handles are only available from the Creative variant onwards.

  • Lower Variant Gets 5-Speed Manual Transmission

The lower variant of the Nexon petrol offer a 5-speed manual transmission compared to the 6-speed manual available in the higher variants. While the power and torque figures are the same across all petrol variants, the lack of a 6th gear could make highway journeys a bit unpleasant.

  • Missing features like 360-degree camera, side thorax and curtain airbags

  • Confusing Variant Lineup

Tata Motors currently offer the new Nexon in 4 primary variants. The 4 primary variants are further divided into Plus and S sub variants. The sheer number of variants along with the complex nomenclature and multiple powertrain combinations could leave buyers scratching their heads when it comes to picking the ideal combination that is suitable for their needs.
