Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift Spotted Testing In India

Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift Spotted Testing In India | V3Cars

Volkswagen unveiled the Tiguan facelift back in July 2020 and the 5-seater SUV has been spotted testing in India. It looks quite similar to the pre-facelift model but gets enough updates to look more modern than before.

Upfront, it features a sleeker triple slat grille flanked by updated new LED headlamps. They are now slimmer and more pulled back than before with more distinct LED DRLs. The front bumper is also redesigned and looks more aggressive and sporty. The side and rear profiles remain largely unchanged with mild updates in the form of a new set of alloys, mildly updated tail lamps and rear bumper and a new spaced ‘Tiguan’ lettering on the tailgate.

On the inside, while the layout remains unchanged it gets a new steering wheel. Features on offer include a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and a three-zone climate control. Safety features on offer include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill launch assist and hill descent control and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Under the hood, the Tiguan facelift will be offered with the same engine that does duty on the Tiguan Allspace, Superb facelift, Audi Q2, A4 facelift and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq petrol. It is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that makes 190PS and 320Nm paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and VW’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.

Volkswagen Tiguan facelift is expected to go on sale in India in the coming few months. Prices are expected to range from Rs 28 lakh to Rs 32 lakh. It will be slotted below the Tiguan Allspace in VW’s India line-up and will take on likes of the Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross.
