Upcoming Kia Motors Cars In India | V3Cars

To further expand their lineup in India, Kia are now set to launch the following cars in India in 2022:

1. Sonet CNG

Images of a Kia Sonet testing undisguised have emerged on the internet. The car had a CNG sticker on the rear windscreen and was wearing a GT badge. This hints that the Sonet will soon get the option of a CNG powertrain with the 1.0L turbo petrol engine. The transmission will likely be the 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission. The power and torque of the car will likely see a dip. We can also expect the option of CNG with the 1.2L normal petrol engine as the Hyundai Aura already comes with this setup. We expect Kia to launch the Sonet CNG later this year to take on the upcoming Maruti Brezza CNG and Tata Nexon CNG.

1. 2022 Seltos Facelift

The 2022 Kia Seltos with updated safety features, colour options and powertrain options recently went on sale in India. However, a full-blown facelift of the Seltos has been spied multiple times testing in camouflage in South Korea. It will sport multiple design changes to its exterior design and gain some new features on the inside. The 2022 Seltos facelift will likely get advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). The facelift, however, will not bring any mechanical changes to the Seltos. We expect the 2022 Seltos facelift to go on sale in India in July 2022.

2. Kia EV6

Kia Motors will soon launch their first EV in India, the EV6. This EV crossover uses Hyundai-Kia’s dedicated EV platform. The EV6 was recently spied testing undisguised in India. The EV6 shares its platform and battery pack with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 but boasts a crossover design with a hunkered-down front profile. The EV6 gets 2 battery pack option and delivers a maximum claimed range of 527km. The Indian variant is likely to come with a bigger, 77.4kWh battery. As the EV6 will be brought to India via the CBU route, it will not be priced aggressively. We expect the EV6 to launch in India in June 2022.

3. 4th-gen Carnival

Kia Motors unveiled the 4th-gen Carnival in 2020. The 4th-gen model is on sale in various countries currently. However, Kia continue to sell the 3rd generation of the Carnival in India. But now, the 4th-gen Carnival is expected to hit our shores soon. The new Carnival uses a new platform and features a completely new design with a more upright stance. The 2022 Kia Carnival for India is likely to get ADAS too. The India-spec 4th-gen Carnival is expected to be powered by the same 2.2L diesel engine and 8-speed TC automatic transmission as the outgoing model. The new-gen Carnival will likely go on sale in India later this year.
