Toyota Hilux Unofficial Bookings Open

Toyota Hilux Unofficial Bookings Open | V3Cars

Toyota India plan to launch the Hilux in India around January 2022. According to a new report, some Toyota dealerships are now accepting unofficial bookings for the Hilux. The dealers are charging Rs 2.0 lakh as the token amount for the booking. Toyota Hilux got a facelift in the global markets last year. Toyota is likely to launch the same model in India, with minor India-specific changes.

Toyota Hilux

We expect Toyota to launch the Hilux with two engine options - a 2.4L and a 2.8L diesel engine. The 2.4L diesel engine might churn out 150PS and 400 Nm of torque, mated with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 2.8L engine is likely to offer 204PS and 500Nm of torque. The Hilux may offer 4-wheel drive only with the more powerful 2.8L engine. Unlike the international markets, Toyota might offer the Hilux in dual-cab variants only to maintain the car-like utility.

Some rumours suggest that Toyota may offer the Hilux in two trim levels - Standard and Hilux Reo. Toyota will offer the Hilux with multiple features like touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, LED headlights and taillights, drive modes, keyless entry, push-button start, and many more. We expect the Toyota Hilux to cost between Rs. 28.0 - 35.0 lakh ex-showroom. It will compete with the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, which is likely to receive a generation update in the Indian market sometime next year.
