Top-spec Hyundai Alcazar To Be Sold Through Limited Dealerships | V3Cars
Hyundai has confirmed that the Alcazar will go on sale on 18 June 2021 and the bookings for the SUV are already underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The carmaker has also confirmed that the SUV will be offered in six variants: Prestige, Prestige(O), Platinum, Platinum(O), Signature and Signature(O).
Now, a leaked document has revealed that the top-spec Signature and the Signature(O) variants of the Alcazar will be sold exclusively through Hyundai Signature Dealerships. Hyundai has not said anything about the Signature dealerships but we expect them to be similar to Maruti’s Nexa line of dealerships. As a result, expect the top-of-the-line Alcazar to be available only in Tier 1 and some Tier 2 cities only. The lower variants: Prestige, Prestige(O), Platinum, and Platinum(O), on the other hand, will be sold through all Hyundai dealerships across the country.
However, if you are planning to buy the 7-seater Alcazar, you don’t have to worry as the Signature and Signature(O) variants will be offered in the 6-seater configurations only.
Although Hyundai has not revealed a variant-wise features list of the Alcazar, let’s take a look at some features that we expect will be limited to the Signature and Signature(O) variants only. Features that are expected to be limited to the higher variants include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, side and curtain airbags, 64-colour ambient lighting, powered driver’s seat, air purifier, ventilated front seats, Bose sound system and connected car tech.
Since the Alcazar will be offered with a set of petrol and diesel engine as standard across the range, buyers won’t miss out in terms of powertrain when buying a lower variant. The Alcazar will be available with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (159PS/191Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm). Both the engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
With launch scheduled for 18 June, prices of the Alcazar are expected to range from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 19 lakh. It will take on the likes of the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700.
