Tata Tiago CNG, Tigor CNG Bookings Open | V3Cars

Tata Motors have now started accepting bookings for the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG. Tata Motors will announce the pricing of the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG later in January 2022. We do not expect any big changes in terms of styling and features with both models. On the powertrain front, both the cars will continue with the same 1.2L normal petrol engine, with reduced power and torque output while running on CNG.

So far, Maruti Suzuki are dominating the CNG segment in the Indian market with Hyundai in the second spot. Tata Motors are now the third major player in the CNG car space with their popular Tiago and Tigor cars. With the CNG fuel, we expect the power and torque figures in the region of 70PS and 90Nm. Unlike the petrol variants which get both manual and AMT options, the CNG variants may only offer 5-speed manual transmission.

The booking amount for both the Tiago and Tigor CNG currently depends on the dealership in your area. You can book your CNG model from Rs 5,000 - 20,000. The buyers will not only get the benefit of lower running costs but will also save on the outright cost of fuel. The CNG fuel is a lot more affordable than petrol which is crossing the Rs. 100 per litre mark in multiple states. It would be an applauding move if Tata Motors offer the CNG models in higher variants as well. In addition to that, AMT variants with the CNG models would be the cherry on the top.

The Tiago and Tigor CNG could cost Rs. 80,000 - 90,000 more than the petrol models. Both the CNG models may offer a claimed fuel economy of around 30kmpkg making them extremely cost-efficient for daily driving. Tata Tiago CNG will compete with other CNG cars in a similar price range like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Santro and Maruti Suzuki WagonR. Maruti Suzuki are also planning to bring the Dzire and Swift CNG to meet the demand of CNG car buyers.
