Recently, the Global NCAP crash test results of the Punch also came out. The mini SUV performed so well in the test, that it became the safest made-in-India car. The Punch received a 5-star safety rating for adults, with a score of 16.45 out of 17. This score was more than that of XUV300, which managed to score 16.42 out of 17. The Punch gets a 1.2-litre normal petrol engine with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. The engine now gets ram-air intake for better performance and drivability at higher speeds. However, the power and torque output remain the same. It still makes 86PS of power at 6000rpm and 113Nm the torque at 3300rpm but offers a noticeably better drivability.

You can book this car for a sum of Rs. 21,000. The Punch has no direct competition in the market, but it can attract potential buyers of high-ground clearance crossover cars like the Maruti Ignis and Tata Tiago NRG. It's also likely to steal some hatchback buyers considering the Altroz, Swift, Baleno or i20. The Punch also competes with the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
