Rumour: Tata Nexon Facelift Could Get A Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission | V3Cars
Last week, various spy shots of the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift emerged online. The updated version of Tata’s B2-segment SUV is likely to go on sale in August 2023. According to a new report, Tata’s best-selling SUV will not only receive major design changes, but also a dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
Tata Nexon Facelift Likely To Offer A DCT
A new report suggests that the Nexon facelift could get a dual-clutch automatic transmission with the 1.2L turbo petrol engine. According to the report, the test engineers claimed that the test car was equipped with a DCT. Tata Motors already offer a DCT with the Altroz hatchback. However, while the Altroz offers the DCT option with the normal petrol engine, the Nexon is likely to offer the DCT with the 1.2L turbo petrol engine option.

Tata Nexon Facelift Likely To Get New 1.2L Turbo Petrol Engine
We expect Tata Motors to debut their new 1.2L turbo petrol engine with the Nexon facelift. The 1.2L turbo petrol engine could produce 125PS of power and 190Nm of torque. A more powerful tune of the 1.2L turbo petrol engine will make its debut in the Curvv SUV in 2024. The new 1.2L turbo petrol engine in the Nexon could offer the option of 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Nexon Facelift Could Boast A New Name
The report also suggests that the Nexon facelift could also get a new name. However, that is hard to believe given the strong brand recall value the Nexon name currently enjoys. If it is believed to be true, the Nexon could gain a suffix, like we saw with the Mahindra Scorpio N.

Tata Nexon Facelift Design Changes
The Nexon facelift is likely to offer a couple of changes over the current model. The spy shots reveal a revised front profile with split LED headlights and a larger front grille. The rear profile of the Nexon facelift is likely to offer a connected light bar along with slimmer LED tail lights. The interior of the Nexon facelift could also get a design overhaul, with better fit and finish levels.
