Tata Altroz Dark Edition was spied recently suggesting its imminent launch. It was spied alongside the upcoming Nexon Dark Edition.

Tata Altroz Dark Edition

Like the Harrier and Nexon Dark Edition, the Altroz Dark Edition gets an all-black paint job with a ‘#DARK’ badging on the front fender. It also gets blacked-out alloys and even the Altroz lettering on the tailgate has been finished in matte black to go with the black theme. Similarly, on the inside, the dual-tone beige-black theme has been swapped for an all-black cabin.

Although there is no official confirmation in which variants the Dark Edition will be offered, it should be available in the higher variants like XT, XZ, XZ(O) and XZ+. For reference, the Harrier Dark Edition is offered in the top four variants: XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+.

Under the hood, the Altroz Dark Edition will be offered with the same set of engines as the standard car. It gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine (86PS and 113Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (90PS and 200Nm). Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed MT. Tata also offers the Altroz iTurbo which gets a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 110PS and 140Nm paired to a 5-speed MT. It remains to be seen if Tata will offer a Dark Edition variant of the Altroz iTurbo.

Features on the offer will also remain similar to the corresponding variants. It will get features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, front and rear fog lamps, ISOFIX child seat anchors, multiple driving modes, semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch screen, mood lighting, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, auto AC with rear AC vents, iRA connected car tech, height-adjustable driver’s seat, push-button start and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Altroz is currently priced from Rs 5.79 lakh to Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo.
