Tata Altroz CNG Bookings Open Ahead Of Launch | V3Cars

Tata Motors have officially commenced bookings for the Altroz CNG ahead of its launch. The carmaker showcased the Altroz CNG at the Auto Expo 2023 with its innovative twin CNG cylinder technology.

Tata Altroz CNG Bookings Open

Tata Motors have opened bookings for the Altroz CNG hatchback. Interested Altroz CNG customers can now book the B2-segment hatchback with a token amount of Rs. 21,000. While Tata haven’t confirmed the launch date for the Altroz CNG, deliveries will begin in May 2023. Hence, we expect Tata Motors to announce the prices of the Altroz CNG later this month or early May.

Tata Altroz CNG Powertrain Details

Tata Altroz CNG offers a 3-cylinder 1.2L normal petrol engine. It offers 77PS of power at 6000rpm and 97Nm of torque at 3500rpm when running on CNG. The power and torque output are 2PS and 2Nm more than that of the Tiago and Tigor CNG. The Altroz CNG will be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission only. Tata Motors are yet to reveal the claimed fuel efficiency figures for the Altroz CNG.

The highlight of the Altroz CNG is its twin CNG cylinder technology, which replaces the large single CNG cylinder with 2 smaller CNG cylinders. As a result, the Altroz CNG manages to offer a boot space of 150L.

Tata Altroz CNG Variants, Colour Options And Features

Tata Motors will offer the Altroz CNG in 4 variants — XE, XM+, XZ and XZ+. Furthermore, the Altroz CNG will offer 4 colour options as well — blue, red, grey and white. Since Tata plan to offer the Altroz CNG in the top-spec XZ+ variant, it will offer features like leatherette seats, cruise control, connected car technology and automatic headlights.

Tata Altroz CNG Expected Price Premium Over Altroz Petrol

Currently, Tata Motors’ CNG cars are priced at a premium of Rs. 90,000 over their corresponding petrol-powered variants. Since the Altroz CNG offers more power and the new twin CNG cylinder technology, we expect Tata Motors to price the Altroz CNG Rs. 95,000 over the corresponding petrol variants of the hatchback. The Altroz CNG will rival the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG and Toyota Glanza CNG.
