The upcoming sub-compact SUV from Skoda will sit on the MQB-A0 IN platform that underpins the Kushaq and Slavia. Skoda India plan to manufacture the sub-compact SUV in India and also export it to other emerging markets around the world. While it is too early to predict, we expect the upcoming sub-compact SUV to take design cues from the Kushaq and Kodiaq. On the inside, it is likely to come packed with features like 10-inch touchscreen infotainment, an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and a 2-spoke steering wheel.

In terms of powertrain, we expect the sub-compact SUV to come with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine as standard. In the Kushaq and Slavia, this 3-cylinder engine produces 115PS of power at 5000rpm and 178NM of torque between 1750rpm-4500rpm. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Skoda’s sub-compact SUV will rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, and the Mahindra XUV300.
