Skoda Rapid Rider Relaunched At Rs 7.79 Lakh | V3Cars

Skoda launched the Rapid Rider back in  May 2020 but stopped accepting its bookings in September 2020 in order to cope with its high demand. Now, Skoda has relaunched the base-spec Rapid Rider and it is priced at Rs 7.79 lakh, at a premium of Rs 30,000 over its launch price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom India).

Other than prices, nothing has changed on the Rapid Rider. It continues to get the 1.0-litre turbo TSI petrol engine making 110PS of power and 175Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed MT. Features on offer include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, auto AC with rear AC vents, front and rear armrest, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and a 2-din music system. 

Along with the re-introduction of Rider variant, Skoda has also increased prices of rest of variants. Here is a detailed price list:

Skoda is expected to launch the Rapid successor in India by the end of this year (2021). It will be based brand’s new MQB A0 IN platform that also underpins the upcoming Kushaq SUV. Expect the new sedan to be bigger than the current model while it will continue to get the current 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. The new sedan is expected to be loaded on the features front as well. Prices of the Rapid successor are expected to range from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. It will continue to take on likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, Toyota Yaris and the Volkswagen Vento.
