As per the latest rumour, Hyundai India will kickstart series production of the next-gen Verna in March 2023. Since the Hyundai manufacturing plant in Russia is shut, Hyundai are planning to make their Chennai plant the export hub for the new Verna.

Hyundai To Export New Verna From India

Hyundai are likely to kickstart series production of the next-gen Verna in March 2023. Hence, we expect Hyundai to launch the new Verna between April and June 2023. The latest rumour suggests that Hyundai aim to increase yearly production of the Verna from 40,000 units to 70,000 units. Hyundai India will export the new Verna to various export markets, including the Middle East and Latin America.

2023 Hyundai Verna Exterior Details

In terms of design, the new Verna will offer a split LED headlight with the LED DRLs sitting at the edges of the bonnet. Its design will take heavy inspiration from the new Elantra, which is on sale globally. At the rear, the new Verna will get connected LED tail lights with Verna lettering spread across the lightbar. The new Verna is likely to measure more than 4.5 metres in length and sit closer in length to that of the now-discontinued Hyundai Elantra.

2023 Hyundai Verna Interior And Features

The most notable change on the inside of the next-gen Verna will be the twin connected screens. It is likely to offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. Furthermore, it will also offer a new dashboard layout with several design elements taken from the new Elantra. Since the new Verna is also likely to boast a longer wheelbase, it is likely to offer increased rear seat space as well.

The 2023 Hyundai Verna is likely to offer the following features:

Front ventilated seats
Powered driver seat
Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems
Automatic climate control
Air purifier
Drive modes

2023 Hyundai Verna Powertrain Details And Rivals

The new Hyundai Verna is likely to continue with the same set of petrol and diesel engine options. The current Verna comes with a 115PS 1.5L normal petrol engine, a 115PS 1.5L turbo diesel engine and a 120PS 1.0L turbo petrol engine. The new Verna will go up against the likes of the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
