Renault Arkana Spied Again - India Launch Soon? | V3Cars
Renault India have been testing the Arkana Coupe SUV on Indian roads for some time now. Some spy shots of the Arkana have surfaced once again and it could make its way to our market. If Renault plan to launch the Arkana in India, we expect it to go on sale via the CBU route.
Renault India’s domestic portfolio currently consists of the Kwid, Triber and Kiger. All of these cars use the CMF-A+ platform, which was designed specifically for the Indian customers. Their portfolio lacks premium products as the only global model, the Duster is no longer on sale. With the Arkana, Renault India are probably planning to tap into the premium segment and boost their brand image, like what Kia did with the luxurious Carnival MPV. However, importing it as is could make it very expensive keeping it out of reach for most car buyers.

Some notable features of the Renault Arkana are:
- Portrait touchscreen infotainment
- Wireless phone charger
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- LCD Digital instrument cluster

Renault offer the Arkana with two engine options – a 1.3L turbo petrol and a 1.6L normal petrol. The turbo-petrol comes with a mild-hybrid system while the regular petrol engine gets a hybrid system. The 1.3L turbo petrol engine makes 140PS of power at 4500 - 6000rpm and 260Nm of torque at 3600rpm. The engine comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 1.6L normal petrol makes 142PS of power at 6000rpm and 148Nm of torque at 3500rpm, while the electric motor adds another 250Nm of torque when required.
