Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Launched In India At Rs. 2.54 Crore | V3Cars

The Cayman GT4 RS offers 80PS more power than the Cayman GT4. However, that small bump in performance makes a huge difference as the GT4 RS is a whole 23.6 seconds faster than the GT4 around the Nurburgring. Credit also goes to the lighter unladen weight of 1,415 kg — 35 kg lighter than the GT4. The GT4 RS gets carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) materials and a lighter rear windscreen to further shed its weight.

Speaking of the engine, the GT4 RS gets a 4.0L flat-six normal petrol engine that produces 500PS of power at 8,400rpm and 450Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. The engine can hold its rev to an astonishing 9000rpm. The power is channelled to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GT4 RS can do 0-100kmph in 3.4 seconds and 0-200kmph in 10.9 seconds. Porsche have also made generous tweaks to the chassis and added bigger brakes for better control.

The Porsche GT4 RS rides 30mm lower than the GT4 and gets an adjustable front splitter. It also gets a swan-necked rear spoiler and all the said changes increase the downforce by 10% over the GT4. To feed more air to the engine, Porsche have also added side air intakes in addition to the front air intakes found in the GT4. On the inside, the GT4 RS gets a new sports steering wheel with top centre marking. Other changes include an 18-way adjustable sports seat for the driver, a manual-resembling PDK gear selector and a steel roll cage.

Porsche GT4 RS sits at the top of the Cayman portfolio and offers impressive performance. The exhilarating performance comes at a price of Rs 2.54 crore ex-showroom without options. The Porsche Cayman GT4 RS goes up against the likes of the BMW Z4 and Jaguar F-Type.
