October 2022 Cars Sales Analysis - Overall Snapshot With YoY, MoM Change | V3Cars

In this October 2022 detailed car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures for each car and the YoY, MoM change each car witnessed in the same month.

We’ll also include last 6 month sales to give you an idea about the 6-month trend of each car on sale in India and share our observations.

Disregarding the numbers of low volume cars like Marazzo and Kona Electric, the Maruti Ignis was the clear winner in terms of YoY gains in October. It recorded a growth of over 200%, followed by Tata Tigor with a near 100% growth in YoY sales.
The top selling brand for the month of October 2022 was Maruti Suzuki, with over 1 lakh 40 thousands units sold.
Maruti’s supremacy over the Indian car market is such that Maruti would have to lose about 90,000 units in sales to match the second best-selling brand, Hyundai.
The WagonR was the best-selling model in October with 19,169 units sold.
The manufacturer with the least units sold in October was Jeep as Citroen managed to surpas the American SUV manufacturer last month.
The Ignis was the top YoY gaining mass-market car with 210% growth.
In the last 6-9 months, we’ve witnessed a lot of action in the Indian auto industry with a bunch of new car launches, generation updates and mid-life refreshes.
