Nissan Magnite Normal Petrol-AMT Launch Soon | V3Cars
According to several media reports, the Nissan Magnite powered by the 1.0L normal petrol engine is set to receive an AMT variant soon. The Magnite normal petrol-AMT variant will be offered as an affordable alternative to the Magnite turbo petrol-CVT variants. Once launched, the Magnite will be available with a total of 4 powertrain options in India.
Nissan Magnite AMT Launch Soon
The Nissan Magnite was launched in December 2020 and it is currently the only Nissan offering in India. The Magnite is based on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-A+ platform, which also underpins the Renault Kiger. Both B2-segment SUVs share the same petrol engine option – a 72PS 1.0L normal petrol and a 100PS 1.0 turbo petrol. However, Renault offer the Kiger with the option of an automatic transmission with both engines – an AMT with the normal petrol engine and a CVT with the turbo petrol. Nissan, on the other hand, only offers a CVT with the turbo petrol engine, while the normal petrol can only be had with a 5-speed manual transmission.
However, that’s set to change soon with the launch of the Magnite normal petrol-AMT variant. The launch of the Magnite normal petrol-AMT variant should help bring down the price of the Magnite automatic variants considerably. We expect Nissan India to reveal the prices of the Magnite normal petrol-AMT variants in the coming weeks.

Nissan Magnite Black Edition Incoming?
While the launch of more affordable automatic variants of the Magnite will surely be welcomed by compact SUV buyers in the country, Nissan have yet another version of the Magnite in the pipeline. Nissan is all set to join the current trend of blacked-out SUVs with the launch of the Magnite Black Edition. We’ve seen quite a few SUVs receive the blacked out treatment lately, including the MG Astor Black Storm and Hyundai Creta Knight Edition. The introduction of the Magnite Black Edition should help improve its sales, what with the festive season just around the corner.
Apart from various blacked-out elements, the Magnite Black Edition will offer the same list of feaures as the standard SUV, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera.
