Nissan Have Exported A Million Cars From India Till Now

Nissan India Achieves 1 Million Exports Mark | V3Cars

Nissan India have achieved the 1 million export mark. Ever since exports commenced in September 2010, Nissan have exported 1 million cars to 108 countries manufactured at the Nissan-Renault Automobile manufacturing plant in Chennai. The latest product from Nissan, the Magnite, commands the major share of vehicles exported.

The brand say that since commencing export operation, Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited (RNAIPL) plant has invested $1.5 billion towards the Indian economy and created employment for over 40,000 people. Nissan also say that they have accelerated the operations in the plant in order to meet the demand for the Magnite, both overseas and in India.

On July 28, Frank Torres, President, Nissan India, alongside members of Nissan’s management team Shri Sanjay Kumar, General manager CS & BD, Shri M Gunasekaran, General manager Finance & operations, Captain G M Balan, General Manager Marine Services, flagged off the one-millionth vehicle – a Nissan Magnite, for export from Kamarajar port.

Nissan India have exported vehicles from Chennai’s Kamarajar Port Ltd (formerly Ennore Port Ltd.) to various regions including Middle Eastern countries, Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, Australia, South-East Asia, SAARC countries, Sub Sahara and Africa. The brand say that in recent years, they have transitioned their primary export market from Europe to the Middle East countries like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Commenting on the milestone, Frank Torres, President, Nissan India, said, “We are proud to celebrate our 1 millionth Nissan vehicle exported from India to the world. Nissan India is a key hub for the exports of completely built-up cars and for parts supply. A good recent example is the export of our most awarded best-selling Magnite into Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. This is proof of the competitiveness of our operations, including the Port facilities. We would like to congratulate all our teams involved for this great achievement and extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Port officials and Union and Tamil Nadu Government for their continued support.”
