New Suzuki S-Cross Spied Ahead Of Its Global Reveal

New Suzuki S-Cross Spied Ahead Of Its Global Reveal | V3Cars

Spy pics of the second generation of the Nexa S-Cross from Maruti Suzuki recently surfaced online giving us a good look at the crossover. The images completely reveal the exterior design of the new car. Judging by the looks, the S-Cross is in for a major redesign. The crossover has shed a lot of its hatchback/crossover styling and now has a boxy-er lines to appeal to the butch SUV buyers.

New Suzuki S-Cross

Since there are a bunch of S-Cross examples moved on flat beds in the photos, we can say that this is the production design of the car, which Suzuki are probably dispatching to the dealers. This is what we can expect the S-Cross to look like when it goes on sale in India sometime next year. The official global unveiling will take place on November 25, 2021.

2022 S-Cross

The new car’s big grille with LED head and tail lamps. Meanwhile, the sloping window line and a slightly sloping bonnet still give it a mild crossover-like vibe. It’ll probably still have a relatively low roofline compared to other C-segment SUVs like the Creta and Seltos.

2022 S-Cross

On the powertrain front, we expect the new-gen Maruti Suzuki S-Cross to continue with the 1.5L hybrid petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The 2022 S-Cross may also offer the 1.4L turbo petrol engine, which is available in some Suzuki cars. This engine will help the S-Cross better compete with the MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. All of these cars offer a more powerful turbo petrol engine option in addition to a base engine.

Internationally, the S-Cross is available with a 4-wheel drive system for better traction in snow. However, given our warmer climatic conditions, we will continue with the front-wheel drive setup.
